I've noticed many roofs in my neighborhood being replaced over the past month or two, as well as the heating and a/c units, so I thought this would be a good subject to discuss.
If you get a new roof, be certain to tell your insurance agent. You might qualify for a discount. Same thing for the heating and a/c unit. There might be a discount available.
Also, if you do any upgrades to the home, like new flooring, cabinets, countertops...etc, be certain to have your policy updated. You want to be certain your home is insured to value. There may be some increase in premium, but it will probably not be that much, plus having the correct info on your policy helps in the handling of any claims.
